Three Cute Kittens

OUR STORY

No matter what type of support you and your pets need, you can count on us to meet your needs and exceed your expectations. That’s because Barn View Cattery was created for one single reason - to provide all cats and cat parents the services and care that they need and deserve.

Barn view cattery is owned and run by John and Lucy Dixon.  The cattery is situated in the lovely rural, yet accessible village of Ings, near Windermere.  Turning off the A591 onto Grassgarth lane you are taken to our quiet family farm, over looking the valley towards windermere. John and Lucy have always loved animals and have worked in industries that have allowed them to develop their passion and give great care to a variety of animals.

John is a third generation farmer, the Dixon family have been at Grassgarth Farm since the 1950's and along with help from his wife Lucy, John now farms a small herd of beef cattle, along with a small flock of sheep.

Lucy is a qualified registered veterinary nurse and has been for the past nine years.  Lucy has had a lifelong passion for animals and from leaving school she worked in a number of different equine disciplines and finally decided to study a degree in veterinary nursing.  She achieved a foundation degree in veterinary nursing from the University of central Lancashire via Myerscough college in 2012.  Since then she has worked in local first opinion practices and most recently worked in a referral practice specialising in orthopaedics.

Lucy and John are a passionate and caring couple who aim to provide the best care for your feline friends whilst they stay at Barn View Cattery.

We have been awarded with a 5 star welfare rating for our cattery, by south Lakeland district council.  Our facilities and knowledge have enabled us to create the highest welfare cattery, these are national regulations and have been designed with cats welfare in mind.  So you can be safe in the knowledge your cat is getting the best care.
